We answer email, from a real yard's point of view
Hireyard has no account system, so there is no login to reset and no server to check. Almost everything we are asked is either "how do I do X" or "the numbers do not look right" — both of which we can usually answer the same day.

What to include. The app version from Settings → About, your Android version, and what you expected the figure to be versus what it showed. If it is about one hire, its ticket number (for example H-2607-011) is enough — please do not send us your backup file unless we ask, as it contains your customers' details.
Questions we are asked most
- Do I need an account or an internet connection?
- No. Hireyard has no account and works entirely offline. The one thing that uses the network is the Privacy policy screen in Settings, which loads the page on this website.
- How do I move my register to a new phone?
- Settings → Backup writes a single JSON file with everything in it. Move that file to the new phone, install Hireyard, then use Settings → Restore from a backup. There is no cloud copy, so this is the only route — and it is the same reason we suggest taking a backup before you change phones.
- Why does an overdue hire still block stock I want to promise?
- Because it is not back. Kit that is out past its due date is held until it is returned, up to and including today — pretending it is on the shelf is exactly how a yard double-books. A hire that is out but due back before your requested dates does not block them.
- The rent is higher than I expected. How is it worked out?
- A line is billed on the quantity that went out, for as long as that line is out, using your own grace hours and minimum charge days from Settings → Billing rules. Any part of a day counts as a day, and a per-week rate rounds up to whole weeks. Open the hire and read the Money section: every figure is broken out.
- Can I charge for a piece that came back damaged?
- Yes — when you record the return, enter the damaged quantity and the amount you are charging for it. Pieces that never came back are charged at the replacement value on the item, and are written off your owned count so they stop being offered.
- Is my customers' data sent anywhere?
- No. Customer and contract records are stored on the device and encrypted at rest. We have no server that could receive them, and the app contains no analytics or advertising SDK.
- How do I delete everything?
- Settings → Clear all data removes every item, hire and customer from the device. It cannot be undone, so take a backup first if there is any chance you want the records later. Uninstalling the app also removes its data.
